What is listed
Businesses are grouped by category and searchable by city. Coverage is Tyler and the surrounding East Texas area, including Longview, Lindale, Whitehouse, Flint, Bullard, Jacksonville and Kilgore, with a smaller number of listings in other Texas cities. The events calendar lists concerts, comedy, festivals and family events in East Texas, plus select events in Dallas, with dates, venues and ticket links.
How listings are checked
Listings are reviewed by hand. Where we have checked a business's phone number and address against its own website, its page shows a Verified date. Events are added only when the venue's or organizer's own page confirms the date. If something is wrong or a business has closed, tell us and we will fix it, usually within 2 business days.
What a listing means
Standard listings are free. A listing is informational only: it is not an endorsement or recommendation, and the directory does not collect or write its own customer reviews (some business pages show a Google rating, displayed live by Google). A limited number of Featured spots on the homepage are free for early businesses and are planned to become a paid upgrade. Being listed or Featured never depends on buying anything else.

How accurate are the listings, and how do I report a correction?
Listings are reviewed by hand, but businesses change phone numbers, hours and locations. If something is wrong or a business has closed, tell us through the contact form, by phone or by email and we will fix it, usually within 2 business days.
Does a listing mean Local Texas Directory endorses the business?
No. Listings are informational only and are not endorsements or recommendations. The directory does not collect or write its own customer reviews. Some business pages show a Google rating and reviews, displayed live by Google; those come from Google, not from us.
How long until my listing appears?
We review each submission by hand and reply within 2 business days. Your listing goes live once it is approved.
Does being listed help with local search and AI answers?
A listing adds another discoverable presence for "near me" and location-based searches, complementing your own Google Maps and search profiles. Each business page also publishes your details as structured data that search engines and AI assistants can read, and the Verified date shows the phone and address were checked against the business's website. No directory can promise rankings or AI mentions.
